Walldorf CDN 17th-18th September 2011

Belissimo at Walldorf CDN

After a bit of a quiet period my truck had the cobwebs brushed down last week and we packed up three of my boys for the lovely national show in Walldorf. In between Heidleberg and Mannheim, Walldorf was a really nice show and perfect for the debut of my newcomers Simba and Bugatti.

My weekend got off the ground with Bugatti, who was excellent in every way for his first outing and won his young horse class with a score of 8.2

Next up was Belissimo, who I started in the PSG…. Yes, the GP debut is not far away, but I deceided that one youngster at GP was going to be enough for this show. Belissimo was brilliant, even with me riding the wrong way….twice! and scored 71.67% and winning the class.

All my focus was then laid upon Simba.  Owned by Elaine and Peter Harrison of Sydney, Australia, Simba came to my stable in March of this year.  I am really enjoying to work with him and over the past couple of months a little bit of magic has happened as he has dug deep to please me.  In the first class we rode the Short GP. In sauna like conditions, he was a bit flat and a little confused in the piaffe but still made a top effort for just under 63%..... We backed up the next day to give the big GP a crack and I have to say that I was super proud as he did his best in every exercise. Of course, there are hundreds of little things to improve that will add to the score but for the moment I was satisfied with a score just under 65% and a third placing.

So now its time for a little break and focus toward the next competition in October.
